The human figure is the most expressive of forms. I work in clay to create realistic figurative sculptures and I paint figures and portraits in oil. The medium of fabric, cotton and wire requires a looser, freer approach.
These soft sculptures pose questions about identity, sexuality and aging. My figures tend to be women but the issues are universal. Colorful printed fabrics and ready-made and decorative objects give the characters energy and movement and a touch of humor. I hope they make you think and smile.
