I am an object maker.
I use objects that are obsolete, broken and discarded by society. Most are old weathered and distressed.
In seeking out material, I search and hunt for objects like a treasure hunter. Most objects I find, have already been removed from their original context. I salvage or rescue these objects so that they may live again.
I transform and elevate unrelated objects into assemblages that co-exist and merge to create a new identity and a new meaning.
I incorporate text and numbers, so that the assemblages can speak with clarity about their past and future.
I construct my assemblages with glue, nails and screws. I avoid making modifications to the objects. The objects are arranged as if they were pulled together by an imaginary gravitational force. They overlap and fit snug together like a puzzle with no start or finish.
