I sculpt to engage in creative play rooted in the wisdom of all the creators who continue to shape my universe.
I am drawn to the physical demands of carving stone. The deliberate and gradual attrition forges a deep connection with the material. The journey to the imagined form is mysterious, joyful, contemplative, violent, serendipitous, enriching.
In my work, I pursue harmony, order, and rhythm in a quest to fight entropy. Through the interplay of volume and texture, I build groundedness, a visual and emotional equilibrium for the observer. Each sculpture exults the beauty conjured by the measured interplay of elements, as demanded by the ancestral medium.
