Mani-Manijeh

Washington DC

Manijeh "Mani" Habashi was born in Tehran, Iran. She is a self-taught artist and former attorney who was forced into exile as a political refugee. Over the years, she lived in Turkey, Germany, and France, and she now resides in Washington, DC, close to her children. In the United States, she and her husband established Le Caprice DC, one of the most successful French bakeries in the capital.

From childhood, Mani nurtured a deep passion for nature and painting. After leaving her legal career, she fully devoted herself to art. She primarily paints with acrylics on canvas and also creates expressive black-and-white pencil drawings. Her main inspiration comes from the beauty and tranquility of nature, which is always at the center of her work.

For Mani, art is more than a daily practice—it is a way of finding peace and expressing emotion. Her paintings are displayed in businesses, hotels, restaurants, private homes, and estates, and she takes pride in knowing that her art brings joy to others.
