Statement
Humanity is located within organic and synthetic webs. I explore modes of connection and metamorphosis within these systems through sculptures that range from abstract biomorphic forms to organic assemblages. Processes, such as metal fabrication, clay sculpting, and casting are essential for my practice. Steel and plastic contrast with the more organic materials, such as basil and moss. This juxtaposition is crucial in thinking about possible sustainable futures and the interaction of vastly different entities. While a hyper technologically infused world is our reality; intimate connection to nature must be sought out actively. My works offer a fragment of nature, archived or imagined, in the hopes of inducing the viewer to seek out more.
