|Architecture: a space acknowledged by perimeters created by materials or metaphysical boundaries.
My art is a direct extension of the architecture in which it resides. I create intriguing volumes that question the viewer as to what is the architecture. Each piece creates a direct contradiction to the viewer's perception of walls forming architecture; angular versus orthographic, tilting versus vertical, and suspension versus compression.
The minimalism of the shapes will help the viewer to understand the entirety of each, while questioning the structural integrity of how the materials are used. The answers are not apparent within the hidden framework and edge-mounting mechanisms used in installing the work. Awareness of space, attention to detail, curiosity, imperfection, and contemplation are some of my goals for viewers to attain when investigating my work.
